foel farm, scooby doo and shrek

Well we made it to foel farm...and I bought a season ticket, not too dear either as I only had to pay for Wayne and I as under 4's are free...and most the time the rest are....

Had a really good day, picked up shel and o and it was really nice, apart from getting a bit cold, but then the sun came out

We went on a quad trailer (shel not allowed...tooo pregnant) a tractor and trailer ride to see shire horses, fed lambs, kids, calves, pigs and played in sand......

which brings me to today....needed to re install all the car seats (back to routine Monday!) and due to all the sand decided to hoover the car....then thought I may as well wash it, then Wayne joined in with the power washer and I washed Rons car, then we were looking at the little scratches....never buy a black car!!! Ron appeared with some black wax polish...so I did the karate kid...wax on wax off...and now my arms ache...but hey the car looks good.....could do with a few more waxes though.....will have to try and do it regular

Didn't have to make tea though...sent Ron for a chinese...well my arms hurt!!

I've been making notes to do a letter for cssiw about home ed and getting Wayne into my over 5's in June, handily the education otherwise newsletter came today so took some inspiration from there....though why I should have to explain myself.....

Funnily enough there was an article about the EYFS which is coming out in England...and eventually Wales....you know we're always lagging behind...lol

I've just received a book about it and from the flick through I've done up to now it seems to be taking the holistic approach and cause lots of paperwork, but I prefer to have the extra paperwork with these things as basically I do activites with the kids...planned supposedly....but planned as in following their lead then reporting on it afterwards and saying what they gained from it

For instance...this morning Wayne and I made shrek and scooby doo chocolate and jelly,(some of which is for a birthday party tomorrow) made a birthday card and wrapped a present....I bought the stuff but Wayne was asking to do them from the minute he woke me up early on my day off!!! (must remember not to tell him what activities we have the next day....far to exciting for him to lie in)

Anyway the key points for EYFS are

The EYFS is based on 4 themes

a unique child......yep
positive relationships....oh yeh
enabling environments.....what???
learning and development.....as and when they're ready!!

Personal social and emotional development
Wayne chose to do the activity...even though it was too dam early in the morning for me!!
lots of praise while he poured...quite accurately.....mixed....counted
I'm getting bored already!!

Communication language and literacy
We talked while we did it!

Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
Counting to 60 and explaining how 60 seconds is one minute....time taken to stir jelly!!
Measuring liquid....explaining that it was hot...blah blah

Knowledge and understanding of the world
taking pictures of our efforts...and downloading them...then blogging them!!
ha ha just thought of a good one, talking about how people are different ..i.e skin colour...shrek is green!!

Physical development
Letting him loose with the power washer...this ran into knowledge and understanding... if you spray it at the power cable you'll be electrocuted...and if you get mummy your fate will be worse...lol

Creative development
Decorating the chocolate with icing....oh and later on dressing up as scooby doo, getting the old dog lead from the garage and putting it round his neck and then getting a cardboard box and using it as a kennel

So a day which covered all the EYFS and it was my day off...no wonder I'm tired...lol
and here's the evidence.............
